OUTREACH

SDFF is committed to mentoring and guiding the filmmakers that shape our festivals' future, as well as supporting other arts and cultural events that exemplify our city's diverse artistic landscape. That is why we are very proud to participate in the following projects and events that teach and honor the filmmakers of our future, and the projects and events that make San Diego "America's Finest City."

CONNECT: THE FILMMAKING EXPERIENCE
"CONNECT" is designed to introduce high school students interested in film to top film industry professionals for an intimate day of workshops and networking. Students across San Diego are invited to listen as some of the industry’s most successful filmmakers, producers and writers share their secrets of survival in the film industry.

Workshops can cover a variety of topics including:

  • writing a great screen play
  • shooting film scenes
  • the A-Z of film production
  • finding funding for an independent film
  • tips to getting a job or internship in Hollywood!

Each student will also get the opportunity to have lunch with one of the industry professionals where they can get all their film questions answered and even get feedback on their projects! A complete workshop lineup will be available soon. Please contact dcowick@sandi.net for more information or download an application here.
